This morning I was reading a chapter from Thomas Watson’s The Godly Man’s Picture and came across an absolutely fantastic sentence. Discussing our stupidity as a result of the fall, Watson said:
If men were not besotted, if their fall had not knocked their brains out—they would see that it is the most rational thing in the world to become godly.
As I sat there smiling like a doofus while absorbing ‘knocked their brains out’, written almost 400 years ago, I had to wonder… How would Mark Driscoll say the same thing? Any ideas?
